Keeping Workers Safe: AGS’ Pandemic Preparedness Plan

How we ensure the health and safety of our workers with FAQs on our preparedness efforts

Allegis Global Solutions continues to monitor the latest developments surrounding coronavirus containment efforts the impact of this evolving situation on our employees, our company, and our customers. We therefore wanted to share what steps we’re taking.

Protecting our Global Workforce

As always, the health and safety of our employees are of the utmost importance, so we are actively following the guidance from organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), the National Health Service, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and making decisions accordingly.

First, as a precautionary measure, we are recommending that employees reduce the risk of exposure to this and other viruses through hand and respiratory hygiene, including the following:

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes or soap and hot water. This is especially important when at work.

  • When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue. Throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands.

  • Avoid close contact with anyone with a fever and cough.

  • If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early, and share your previous travel history with your health care provider.

Any AGS employees who work onsite at a client location were advised to follow the organization’s crisis protocol. In addition, they should contact their AGS HR representative and local leadership if they experience any symptoms, are exposed to someone with symptoms, or require alternate work arrangements.

Second, we have canceled all internal meetings and training through March 31, 2020, inclusive of non-essential domestic business travel, in addition to banning all international/cross border travel.
Third, as recommended by the CDC and the WHO, we ask that any employees who have recently traveled to an area of outbreak, or who have come into contact with an individual who has recently traveled to an area of outbreak, coordinate with our HR department to follow recommended quarantine protocols.

Fourth, we have in place crisis management plans, as well as business continuity and disaster plans to address circumstances such as this. Allegis Global Solutions and our parent company Allegis Group are committed to working closely with our clients regarding crisis response actions as necessary, including video conference meetings/project updates, work from home options, and other actions designed to limit physical contact in line with new information from relevant health agencies.

Finally, while there are many factors to consider, the largest suppliers in the industry are actively working their crisis management plans, taking a very conservative position on COVID-19. Clients can expect suppliers to communicate to their contingent workforce the expectation to follow the client organization’s protocol for this situation, specifically around travel, quarantine and exposure notification, and work from home flexibility, if any, to name a few. Where protocol may differ for internal and contingent workers, AGS will collaborate closely with clients and suppliers to address the appropriate course of action.
